#2. Contact Your Friends and Family
Your friends and family will probably get sick of you asking, but if you make it easy for them and share the link each day with them, I am sure they will vote each day because they love you and they won’t mind. Why not ask them to share with their friends as well – the more people voting daily the better.
#3.Contact the Local News Paper
Contact your local paper and tell them about the competition and your pet. Local papers love to cover stories like this. They can get more information about the competition at tailofthyearaward.com and if you need any additional information just ask.
When you contact them make sure you give them a good reason to feature you – so tell the story of your pet and what makes them so amazing. Also, don’t forget to send them great photos of your pet in their award. Some magazines or blogs might cover you too, so don’t be shy in asking!
#4. Contact Local Radio
Contacting the local radio could be a fun way to get more votes for your Tail. Contact them, tell them your story and do a phone interview with them. Radio stations are great at making you feel comfortable so don’t be shy!
#5. Create A Facebook Page or Instagram Account
Anyone can create a Facebook Page or Instagram Account and it’s completely free! Make sure to share lots of pictures each day and post the voting link as a reminder to people. It’s a great way to create a community of online support for your Tail.
#6. Ask Your Local Rescue
Many rescues may allow you to post on their Facebook page. Make sure to ask for their support and remember when you are asking for support, explain why your pet deserves to win and what makes them so great!
#7. Post In Breed Groups
Breed groups love shining the light on positive pooches in the limelight. Check out facebook for any groups and reach out to see if they may be willing to support your Tail and share a post or two!
#8. Share On Twitter
Make sure you share your voting link on Twitter. If you use the hashtag #TailoftheYear when voting then I will retweet them for you from the Trusty Tails Twitter account.
#9. Ask Local Celebrities
Do you know anyone famous or have someone famous in your neighborhood? If you don’t know anyone famous, tag them in social media or reach out to them on twitter. See if they will share your voting link. You never know, some celebrities in your town may find it fun to support their Tail of their City.
#10. Get A Mention In Your Parish, Temple, Mosque’s Newsletter
Many religious groups have newsletters that are well read, maybe yours has one too! Ask them to add a notice in it. I am sure they’d be excited to support you in something fun these days!
#11. Make Posters
Why not put up posters in your local area, apartment building or in your window to drum up some support. Let your neighbors and people in the area know you need their support and their vote to win. You will be surprised how many locals are happy to support you. They just need to know about you. If you are using Trusty Tails – Tail of the Year logos, I can send them to you. Please read terms and conditions for use of other company logos on posters.
