Things to Consider before taking taking your pet to Santa

Before you bring your pet out to the mall with you for photos with Santa, there are some things to consider.  First and foremost, will this be a good experience for your pet? Think about how your pet deals with car rides, crowds and being out of his comfort zone in general.  It would be a poor choice on your part to try to force a pet that has not been socialized, or just doesn’t like being away from home, and bring him out where there are kids and a fat, jolly guy in a red suit.

Familiarize your pet with strange people, sights and sounds long before the day for his photo ever arrives. Also, is your pet “house broken”? You want Santa to bring presents to your pets, you certainly don’t want your pet leaving “presents” for Santa.  Even if your pet is potty trained, bring supplies to clean up after your pet in case he does have an accident.

Where’s your favorite place to take your pets to get their photos taken with Santa? Do your pets enjoy it? We’d love to hear about your experience.
