Trusty Tails Tail of the Year (Semi Finalists 2020)
Thank you to everyone who participated in our first annual Tail of the Year for Hudson County. It’s been incredibly exciting to see all the entries come through and all your social media posts encouraging your friends to vote! Your pets are all incredible.
We want to congratulate those contestants who have made it through to the next stage of the Tail of the Year 2020 pet competition.
- If your pet is featured below, they are in the top three for their city based on votes they received.
- Next, our judges take over and will decide which pet will represent each of the 11 cities of Hudson County for Tail of their City.
- Then, the pets will each move on to compete for the overall title of Tail of the Year.
What happens during Judging?
Each pet will be judged on the following criteria:
- Number of public votes (33% of score)
- Quality, cuteness, and uniqueness of photos submitted (33% of score)
- Written Entry (33% of score)
Pets with the most points will go through to the finals. Final scores will not be made public. In the event that the winner does not want to participate in the final stages, the the runner up will be put through to the final.
When Will The 11 Tail of the Year Finalists Be Announced?
We plan to announce the final 11 Tails around October 19th, 2020.
Voting will start on November 2, 2020.
We will be in touch with the final 11 with further instructions for the competition.

Kobe is a social butterfly and the best neighborhood watch! Kobe approaches all his neighbors with the cutest puppy pounce and a happy wagging tail! He is so loved by his neighbors. He’s our little mayor of the city!
Louie
Hello my name is Louie! I’m a rescue from Georgia, but I’m really liking Hudson County..u guys have some good smells! Mommy & Daddy are making me do this, so it will cost them a sock! As you can see I’m super cute and hope you vote for me! Smell you later.
Sir Prize
Sir Prize is just not an ordinary feline, he has elegance and class. From his demeanor to name it’s all the coolest cat on the block would be!

Butter would make a great Tail of Hudson County because of his resilience. After spending years in an abusive home, he is still receptive to love! Hudson county is full of transplants and Butter knows what that’s like. Everything is better with Butter!

Drogon
Drogon is the most adorable and fun loving puppet ever! He will love any human unconditionally. He is also very patient and will not love you any less if you delay giving him a treat. He loves visiting new places and smelling everything new to him.
Fidget
Woof! My name is Fidget! I am a trained service dog and trick dog! My favorite tricks to preform are rebound, back stall and sit pretty! I also love meeting new people & dogs! My tail is always a fun color! It always matches my humans hair! 🙂
Rogue
Rogue is a crazy Shiba Inu who loves being the center of attention. She is super silly and makes everyone laugh with her meme like faces.
Hoboken
Hunter Hanley
Hunter would like to apply for the role of Tail of the Year. He excels at playing fetch and solving treat puzzles. Hunter was rescued from Thailand, where he survived panleukopenia , but he is now a US citizen. His hobbies include snuggling and pouncing.
Agua
My name is Agua and I love playing in agua. I love going paddle boarding and fishing with my hoomans. I love the dog parks in Hoboken, especially the Church Square Park because I get to run around with all my friends. I love my county and it’s waterfront
Jersey City
Marzipan
Marzi is a 6 month old rescue with FHV. She’s full of energy, an extremely smart kitten who learnt how to sit, high 5 & twirl around for treats. She has soft, lush fur and a mix of 3 beautiful colors – black, brown & white. That’s why we call her Marzipan.
Buddy
Buddy is not only our loving fur baby but he wants to be everyone’s best bud! 5 months old but this Golden loves playing with his fellow dog neighbors no matter the size! Always up for playing fetch or socializing with people at the nearest outdoor spot.
Liberty
Liberty the Lioness, the full Chow queen. She loves to hang with Timba the Hamster & patrol the waterfront for her archnemesis, s-worded rodents. After patrols, she dangles her paws to enjoy the NY skyline. Lady L has embraced her furever home & pawrents

Ozzie is our real life teddy bear. He came to our lives during very difficult times just to brighten up our days with unconditional love and funny tricks. He is unique and draws attention wherever he goes with his looks and pawrsonality.
Magnolia
Magnolia is the funniest/craziest 6 month golden! Her smile is contagious. She’ss always doing the funniest faces. This girl has a big heart and even bigger personality. You can also follow her instagram: magnolia_thegolden to see more of her!
Sophia
This is Sophia.she was found near a park.the following year she was a mom to 2 kittens that where born in someone backyard. she loves riding in her carriage plus car rides. playing with her other brother and sister she gentle with her new rabbit friend.

Toby has the sweetest puppy dog eyes, he loves to run circles around his owners and has one ear that randomly sticks up on certain days.
Moshi
Moshi is a loving Frenchie who lacks a tail, but that won’t stop her from winning Tail of The Year 2020! She loves everyone and every dog, even if they’re twice her size. All she wants to do is be your best friend and eat treats for the rest of her days.
Rico
Meet Rico! Rescued three months ago from Puerto Rico & has been putting a smile and leaving his mark (with his unique markings) on everyone who meets him. You can find him outside stopping to smell the flowers or inside trying to steal your socks!

Minnie would be the perfect candidate as the Tail of Hudson County! Minnie is the cutest, fluffy dog that loves being the center of attention! She’s loving and sweet while still playful and energetic. Minnie loves her toys, her treats, and her county.

Luna
Luna is well known on the streets of Union City. You can find her chasing pigeons, carrying tree branches in her mouth, and giving side eye when you don’t throw the ball. Luna’s pet peeve is when you reply all on an email.
PD Cesar Danger
Just like all of us, 2020 was a ruff year for PD. He lost his spotlight to a new human sister and moved from a big backyard to a tiny apartment. I want to show PD he’s still my baby. Help PD win new toys, instead of that dryer ball he’s claimed this year
Princess
I got Princess when she was 8 months old. She was very skinny and very shy. She is now a very dependent woman a mother of five. Loves long walks and treats.

Luna is a wild, Weehawken kitty who is a BIG fan of the holidays. No plant or Christmas tree is safe from this mischievous feline. When she’s no napping she’s either chasing her tail or doing sprints in her apartment. Luna is a Loonie Toon.

She is Kona, who is very sweet, funny, playful 2 y/o golden retriever. Her father is an English cream and mother is a field golden. That is why she looks a bit unique!! And Bilingual!! Understands English and Japanese.

Molly might be the greatest cat of all time. Originally a California cat Molly moves to NJ about 5 years ago. Her adorable little face adored by thousands of people all over the world on her Instagram page Mollythecat32.

Abby is famous in our complex! She is the most playful, loving puppy who loves humans and other four legged friends equally. Abby loves to pose for pictures and supports the local Starbucks with her love for Puppuccinos! Belly rubs are her all time fave!
