What is the Tail of the Year?
The Tail of the Year is set to be Hudson County’s largest pet competition ever seen. The Tail of the Year is an online red carpet pet competition celebrating the love and passion people have for their pets in the 12 cities of Hudson County, New Jersey. Pets from all over Hudson County will compete over the course of a few months to win the award of Tail of the Year! All pets are welcome to participate, it’s not just for dogs.
Who Can Enter the Competition?
This isn’t a competition just for the dogs – we want to celebrate the love people have for all types of pets. And we wanted to give all the cities in Hudson County a chance to compete with each other. It’s going to be so much fun for everyone involved.
How Does the Tail of the Year Competition Work?
First, entrants will compete to become the ‘Tail of the City’ and represent their town as semifinalist. One Semi-Finalist from each of the 12 cities in Hudson County will be chosen.
Then, the 12 City Tail Winners, or Semi-Finalists, will compete to win the overall title of 2020 Tail of the Year.
Entries are open from August 31st – September 20th, after which a public vote and judging will take place. Then, the winner will be announced on 18th November as the Tail of the Year.
