Cat Sitter: What Happens During A Cat Visit?

Hide And Seek

Upon arrival, if kitty isn’t meowing and waiting for us at the door, we will call out her name. She may be hiding or she may be excited and come running right away for us. Lots of petting and attention, love and affection, is always given. A little play time with any toys you leave out and some cuddles too. If you leave a brush out, we will be more than happy to brush her.

“Cats always get into some interesting hiding spots. Sometimes, it is a bit of a game trying to find them. Between couch cushions, on tops of shelves, or behind the curtains. I always find them though. I like try and get them to come out and say hi, but if they don’t want to, that is ok too. I just want to make sure they are healthy and safe. I’ve seen cats get caught in unusual spaces in the house that you’d never think of…like a drawer that he was in that rolled shut on him or a closet door that closed on her. Fresh Food & Water

Then, off to clean the water and food bowls. Fresh water is always given. If your cat is interested, we’ll even leave the bathroom sink water on for a short bit so she can play in the water. Whatever, the meal plan, we will follow your instructions.  We always make a note of how much food and water is being consumed.

Tidy Up & Clean Litter Box

While she is snacking on her food, it is off to the litter box to scoop out clumps and dispose of properly outside of your dwelling. If necessary, we will be more than happy to change the litter entirely after cleaning the box out first.

We also check around the home for any messes that may have happened. From fur balls to up-side-down plants, we are there to make sure your cat is safe, healthy, and happy.

 “I once showed up to a home where a cat had gotten into mom’s kitting basket.  Balls and balls and balls of yarn were strung about the apartment. It was almost as if it were a webbing. Playtime

A few final moments are spent playing with your cat and then it’s time to say good-bye ’til next time. If you would like, we can even pick-up the mail and water your plants while you are away. Just let us know of anything else and we will surely do our best for you.
