4 Tips: Making Your Dog Walker's Job Easier
Come on….throw us a bone! Here are a few tips for helping us Dog Walkers care for your dog:
4 Tips to Making Your Dog Walker’s Job a Little Easier
1. Keep your account details up to date.
Did you move across the hall or down the street over the weekend? Don’t forget to let us know and update your account. Believe it or not, we’ve had wonderful clients forget to tell us they’ve relocated. We’ve gone to the old apartment when their pets were expecting us at the new one.
2. Keep your dog’s profile up-to-date.
Your pet’s health and well being is of the utmost importance to us. By keeping your dog’s pet profile up-to-date with:
- Food Instructions–how much food and when it should be served
- Location of the food and where those favorite dog treats are stored.
- Allergies
- Medications
- Vaccinations
- Veterinarian Information
- Location of your bar code for our GPS tracking system.
- Location of a towel for rainy days or the winter coat and boots for the snowy days
- Does your dog have a favorite spot he likes to do his , ehhh-hem, business? Believe it or not, some dogs are VERY particular and have been known go in only 1 particular spot.
3. Where’s your dog’s collar, harness, and leash?
Looking for the collar, harness, and leash can be a challenge sometimes. We always carry our own just in case, but your dog prefers her own and so do we. We’re happy to call you. Some places you’ve had us look–the hamper, on the floor under your dirty gym clothes, or behind the cereal boxes on top of the refrigerator.
4. You booked us, now don’t forget we’re coming!
If your dog is on our schedule, we’re excited and looking forward to walking with him. We try to always knock first. However, there’s nothing more embarrassing than entering an apartment right when you’ve decided to have a romantic moment with that special person in your life, you’ve just gotten out of the shower and thought you’d make a quick dart for the bedroom from the bathroom with out a robe, or you’ve decided to take a nap on the couch in your living room in your undermentionables (yes these have all happened and are embarrassing for everyone involved).
