Pet Parent Spotlight: Meet Hannah Taub and Ravioli
It’s no secret that Hoboken and Jersey City are pet-friendly, pet-loving cities. With an endless list of dog parks and pet-friendly businesses, Hoboken and Jersey City are great places to raise your furry friend.
At Trusty Tails, we pride ourselves on building real relationships with local pet owners (and their pets, of course!) in the Hudson County community. We genuinely care about pet happiness, and we know our clients do too.
On that note, we are excited to launch a new monthly content series that highlights the wonderful dog, cat and pet owners in Hudson County that we’ve had the pleasure of meeting, supporting and servicing. Introducing… “Pet Parent Spotlight!”
Our first feature is all about Hoboken-based influencer Hannah Taub, AKA @talkdirty2yourfood. She became a pet parent just this past year, and already feels so much love for the Hoboken pet community. Read on to learn more about Hannah’s pup, her favorite pet-friendly spots, and more!
So Hannah, tell us about yourself!
My name is Hannah Taub and my dog’s name is Ravioli! I have been living in Hoboken for 5 years, and I got Ravioli in September 2020. She’s a newer Hoboken resident! I am a major animal lover and grew up having a dog since I was little. From family puppies to now, taking care of my own fur baby! I work in social media, and I love photography and all things Hoboken. I have a foodie Instagram account that has become quite popular locally. You can follow me @talkdirty2yourfood but if you’re looking for lots of Ravioli content, you can follow her too @raviolithecavapoo.
Tell us about your pet!
Ravioli is a Cavapoo, which is a mixed breed of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle. She is only 10 months old still! I found her through Lancaster Puppies in upstate New York.
What’s the story behind how you met your pet?
I knew I always wanted to get a dog at some point — I grew up with a Cockapoo named Ginger. She was my best friend growing up. When she passed away last May I was devastated. Losing a dog is truly such a horrible experience. It is like losing a family member.
That summer I started doing some research on similar breeds and found Ravioli online. Something about her photo really stuck out to me. She truly reminded me of my childhood dog so much since they are similar breeds. I picked her up 2 days after my 26th birthday, and it was love at first sight! My family still says she is Ginger reincarnated. They have such similar personalities. I feel like Ravioli has a piece of Ginger in her somehow!
Why do you love having a pet in Hoboken?
Hoboken is honestly the best place to have a dog. Everywhere you go, you truly cannot turn a corner without seeing another dog. The vets are amazing and the parks are filled with friendly owners. Every restaurant is super dog-friendly – there are even dog-friendly bars here!
I love bringing Ravioli to Cork City, which is an old school pub in Hoboken and a dog friendly bar. No beer for Ravioli, but definitely for mom! Schmitty’s Hoboken is another spot I like to bring Ravioli with me when I visit. She also comes to whatever coffee shop I decide to pop into for my daily morning coffee runs. Honestly, pretty much all of the businesses around my apartment know and love Ravioli here!
Are there any must have pet accessories or products that you couldn’t live without?
Her snuggle puppy! Ravioli loves cuddling up with her favorite plush toy, which is also a pup. She has also become addicted to the Trader Joe’s dog treats, which are her favorite! Even dogs love Trader Joes, I guess!
Thanks for chatting with us, Hannah!
