Meet Our Tails Family: Superhero Brothers Loki and Thor

If you are fans of the Marvel comic series, you will enjoy getting to know these two Trusty Tails Family Members and adorable Frenchies, Loki and Thor!

Karolina and her husband, Nick have been Hoboken residents since 2018 and are so obsessed with French bulldogs, that they wound up having two!  When they first got Loki, they didn’t know that they would eventually get him a brother.

Loki, their first Frenchie, has been with them since May 2019 in which they flew to Missouri to pick him up.  They wanted their first pup to be grey (blue) with a white chest patch (brindle) ever since Nick saw a feature in the Dogist in 2016.

A Pandemic Pup

Thor is a pandemic pup! They wanted to add a second Frenchie to their family after their summer trip this year. With COVID derailing their travel plans, they decided to pick up their little guy in Pennsylvania this past April. He’s a very energetic black mask/red sable Frenchie.

Amusingly, the pups are named after Marvel comic characters who happen to be brothers yet archenemies! But, in this case, there is nothing but LOVE between Loki and Thor.  Their personalities match their names perfectly – Loki is a jokester with no shame, whereas, Thor is a good boy always looking to be on his parents good side.  Karolina and Nick have Marvel siblings!

The hardest thing about being a pet owner:

For Karolina and Nick is the time (and financial) commitment to raise healthy and well behaved dogs. They knew that french bulldogs were a high maintenance breed but it wasn’t until they got their first pup that they realized how much extra time and money they had before!  Frenchies require a lot of cleaning, trial and error with food, training and a lot of patience as they tend to be incredibly stubborn.

The top three most rewarding things about being a pet owners for Karolina and Nick are:

1. Coming home after a long day at work and being greeted with pure happiness.
2. Snuggling at night with their pups.
3. Making progress and having others compliment how well behaved their dogs are after putting in the effort to train them.

If You Were America’s Got Talent, What Would Your Story Be?

Loki: I was born in Missouri but was raised in Hoboken, New Jersey! My parents say that a small part of me is Brazilian since that’s where they’re from. Last year they took me to Rio de Janeiro to celebrate New Year’s but I wasn’t a fan. That place is too hot and loud. I’ve also been to Canada but they’re not very dog friendly there so I’d not recommend. My favorite place, besides Hoboken, is grandma’s and grandpa’s house in Paramus. When I’m not traveling, you’ll find me playing with a tennis ball. I can hear a squeak from anywhere, trust me. I’m also super fast to chase it… just don’t expect me to bring it back.

Thor: Born in Pennsylvania but raised with my brother Loki in Hoboken. I haven’t been to as many places as my brother but I do love grandma’s and grandpa’s house. I enjoy making friends and sniffing butts which means that I must stop and stare at every single dog while walking outside. I try my very best to always be a good boy and feel guilty whenever I mess up. Good thing I have mastered the puppy dog eyes! My parents can’t resist them.

Loki and Thor: We both have sensitive tummies so it’s prescription treats for the win! Good thing we love them.

What’s The Cutest/Funniest Thing You Ever Did (Apart From Everything!)?

Loki: Whenever I don’t feel like doing something that my parents want me to do (such as going potty when I don’t need to), I always kick back in defiance but they laugh and kick back also.

Thor: We recently went to Petco for my brother and I to pick out a little gift. It was love at first sight with a furry squirrel. I picked it out from the shelf and carried it with me to check out.

What Do You Think Your Human Loves Most About You (Apart From Everything!)?

Loki: My parents love the way I smell, especially when I’m sleeping.

Thor: Mama and papa love my chubby little body.

What Does Your Human Do That Annoys You (Promise Not To Tell Them!)?

Loki: I hate having to take my tummy pills. I’m very clever to hide them under my flaps or spit them out when no one’s looking… so my parents usually have to inspect my mouth after every dosage.

Thor: I hate when my parents have to clean my tear stains.

What Do You Love Most About Your Pet Sitter (We Will Definitely Tell Them!)?

Loki and Thor: When our parents are busy working, our walker is right on time to give us a little attention and make the day go by faster
